Back during the first run of 15" Snowflakes we commissioned a small run of mini-flakes that were CNC-machined from billet aluminum.
Why? There's no real answer other than we thought it would be a cool thing to have on our desk and fondle once in awhile. Car guys/girls often seem to dig small, detailed objects machined from raw metal, and the fact we sold out of that first (and only run) pretty much proved that concept.
With RML back up and running again, we hit up our friend Justin from Zealous Manufacturing to engineer and cut us another small run of mini-flakes, but this time we're using the updated 18/19" Snowflake design.
Each mini-flake takes hours to set up, program, change for different mill-ends, and orient for different tool-paths. So if you're thinking, "that's a mini-wheel with full-size price", well, now you know why.
