We’ve wanted to make this wheel forever, but have never been 100% confident there’s sufficient demand from the E30 BMW market. We’re still not, to be honest, but we’re only going to make 400 wheels, so the risk isn’t huge.
For this new 16x8 RML design, we’re using a new construction method: cast face welded to fully-forged barrels. This technique allows for a very light, and very strong wheel, while also giving us flexibility to add different widths without having to create a new mold.
