15x7 Snowflake Update

November 1 Update: It appears the additional tariffs will not be imposed, so this coming Monday I will confirm the order with my factory. Let's hope we can get these into production and on the water before someone somewhere changes their mind!

Well, we were so close to making this happen...

A couple weeks ago I finally reached my threshold of pre-orders to justify placing a new production order with my factory. And then, a mere three days later, President Trump announced that on Nov 1 he would be placing an additional 100% tariffs on my wheels.

Obviously, this would make this new production run a huge financial loss for me, and as a result, if he does follow through on his threat I will be refunding everyone's money. Fortunately, my factory has agreed to put my order on hold until I give them the green light to move ahead, or cancel it altogether.

Political developments this week are looking favorable for Trump backing off his threat to increase tariffs, so I'm waiting at least until this Saturday to see what happens. If things are looking stable (relatively-speaking) on Nov 1, I'll tell the factory to move forward with production, and we can expect to have wheels ready to ship to customers by end of February.

I do want to emphasize just how risky this is for me, even with good news for Nov. 1: Even if he doesn't follow through on his current threats, due to the nature of how Trump is handling his approach to tariffs, if at any time between Nov 1 and when the wheels hit the water in Jan / Feb, he chooses to increase tariffs again, I will have little to no recourse for protecting myself from sizable financial loss. It will be too late to stop production and I will have already pre-paid the factory for them.

Here's hoping we can get to the finish line for these wheels with no more drama...
